An Indian national was killed and another injured after being badly beaten up by a group of robbers who forcibly entered their apartment in east Moscow, the police said.

Four robbers entered the apartment shared by the two Indians on Shcholkovskoye Highway on Sunday and tied them with scotch tape, they said.

The Indians were badly beaten up by the robbers and one of them succumbed to injuries. Valuables and cash worth $ 500 (Rs 22,800) were robbed from the apartment rented, they said, without disclosing the identity of the Indians.

"A criminal case has been launched and the local branch of the investigations committee is conducting the probe," a police spokesperson said.
