Indian Foreign Secy in US for talks with new Obama admn

Indian Foreign Secretary Ranjan Mathai is expected to meet United States Secretary of State John Kerry during his scheduled visit to Washington on February 20 - 22.

He will also hold foreign office consultations with Under Secretary of State Wendy Sherman where the entire gamut of bilateral issues will be taken up for discussion.

During the visit, Mathai is likely to meet Deputy Secretary of State William Burns, Department of Energy Deputy Secretary Daniel Poneman, Deputy Secretary of Defence Dr Ashton Carter and Under Secretary of State for Energy, Economic Growth and Environment, Robert Hormats

Mathai, during his visit, will speak at the Carnegie Endowment on February 21 on the topic "A 21st Century India-United States partnership for peace, prosperity and progress".
