The National Investigation Agency is having a difficult time extracting any kind of information from arrested Hyderabad blasts case accused Syed Maqbool alias Zuberan.

Maqbool, say sources, refuses to give any direct answers and often responds mockingly.

When grilled about the blasts, Maqbool reportedly told his interrogators, “Do I have to tell you the same thing over and over again? I had told you everything last time but you people could not do anything to prevent the attack”.

The NIA has sought the permission of the court to question Maqbool to find more information about his role in the Hyderabad blasts.

The twin blasts in a crowded market in Hyderabad had claimed 16 lives on February 21.

NIA officials are probing the links Maqbool had in the city, including his connection with a political party, and how he used them to set up a local module of the Indian Mujahideen.

Maqbool had been arrested by the Delhi police last year.

NIA officials, who started questioning the terror operative after the Hyderabad blasts, have failed to elicit any useful information from him.

According to a member of the Special Investigation Team of the Delhi police, Maqbool spoke rudely to his interrogators and claimed that he was tired of answering the same questions.

“What more can I tell you? I had told you everything when I was arrested. I had told you that  Imran and I had conducted a reconnaissance in (blast site) Dilsukhnagar. Now, you people are asking me the same thing again? My job was to conduct a survey of the area. I had nothing more to do with it. I don’t know anything more,” he told NIA officials, according to sources.

NIA officials have no intention of giving up so easily on him. They believe that Maqbool is holding back crucial information about his links in Hyderabad and Nanded as well as the names of his associates. The agency wants to dig deeper into his connections to track down more modules of the Indian Mujahideen.
