United Progressive Alliance's Presidential candidate Pranab Mukherjee said in Kolkata on Saturday night that if necessary, he would definitely talk to Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee, seeking her support for his candidature.
"If necessary, definitely I will talk to her," Mukherjee said when asked whether he would talk to Banerjee.
But Mukherjee added, "Right now, there is no such possibility."
Banerjee had opposed Mukherjee's candidature and had instead proposed former President A P J Abdul Kalam's name for the top post before he opted out of the race.
Mukherjee was talking to a TV channel on his return from Miriti, where he visited his ancestral house and family members during the day.
Mukherjee is scheduled to visit the Belur Math, the global headquarters of the Ramkrishna Math and Mission, and meet West Bengal Governor M K Narayanan on Sunday.
