Around 2.7 lakh people who went to sleep in Telangana woke up in Seemandhra on Monday morning. The residents of 337 villages situated in the Paloncha and Bhadrachalam areas in Khammam have now become part of Andhra Pradesh with the formation of Telangana.

‎These villages are part of the mandals, which will be submerged in the Polavaram project.

In all there are 534 villages in the 7 mandals and as per the Polavaram project‎ details 337 will go to Seemandhra.

The 2.7 lakh people who slept in Telangana and woke up in Seemandhra are part of the following villages -- Chintoor, Kunavaran, V R Puram, Bhadrachalam and Burgampadu.

It was over this issue that the Telangana Rashtra Samithi had called for a one day bandh. They had complained that Telangana was losing too much land and the project should be redrawn. The TRS also is planning on approaching the Supreme Court.
