Both houses of Parliament saw smooth business on Wednesday as opposition National Democratic Alliance members boycotted proceedings to highlight their demand for Railway Minister Lalu Prasad's ouster following framing of charges against him in a fodder scam case.
Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha saw normal functioning of Question Hour, the main casualty of the opposition protests.
NDA boycotts Somnath's meeting
A large number of questions were taken up in both Houses in an orderly manner.
Even the demand for dismissal of Narendra Modi government by two United Progressive Alliance members in Rajya Sabha, which would otherwise have been received with protests from NDA, did not evoke any reaction.
The NDA has decided to boycott parliamentary proceedings for the week.
