Security forces are engaged in a gun-battle with militants, including a top Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) 'commander' holed up in a forest of Kishtwar district in Jammu and Kashmir.

Acting on a tip-off that LeT 'divisional commander' Shah Din Khanday, along with some militants, is hiding in Kither forest belt, troops of Rastriya Rifles and police launched a cordon-and-search operation in the area today, official sources said.

The encounter is continuing and details are not immediately available.

HuJI's 'supreme commander' Feroz Ahmed Mengnu was among six militants, including five top commanders of the group, Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) and LeT killed in three separate gunbattles in Kishtwar and Poonch districts in the last two days.
