The Rajasthan government on Tuesday decided to forward the report of the Justice Jasraj Chopra Committee to the Centre. The committee had looked into the demands of the Gujjar community in the state, who want to be shifted to the Scheduled Caste category from the Other Backward Caste.

The decision was taken at a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, state Health Minister Digambar Singh told reporters in Jaipur.

The Cabinet also announced the setting up of a high-powered committee led by Bharatiya Janata Party treasurer and Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament Ramdas Agrawal, to prepare a special package for Gujjars based on the Chopra Committee report.
