Swaminarayan priests accused of sodomy

A 12-year-old boy in Ahmedabad has accused three sadhus of the famous Swaminarayan sect of sodomising him, police said on Tuesday.

According to his complaint filed at Kalupur police station, a sadhu lured him to his room in the temple premises on Monday with the promise of offering sweets. Later, he, along with two other sadhus, allegedly committed the crime.

"Following the complaint, the boy was sent to the civil hospital for a medical examination. We will take further action once the report is made available to us," Senior Police Inspector J V Desai told PTI.
