Fire at Connaught Place in New Delhi

Fire broke out on the fifth floor of a multi-storeyed building at Connaught Place in New Delhi on Saturday morning, fire officials said.

About 30-35 fire tenders and rescue vehicles were rushed to douse the blaze at Mayur Bhawan where the Income-Tax office is situated. The fire broke out at 5am, officials said.

No casualties or injuries had been reported in the fire that started from the fifth floor of the building which later spread to the fourth floor. Operations are still on, the officials said, adding it is a medium-range fire. The reason behind the fire is not yet known.
