The Election Commission is likely to announce on Tuesday the schedule for Assembly polls in five states.
The states are -- Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan and Mizoram.
It is not clear whether the schedule for polls in Jammu and Kashmir will also be announced by the three- member poll panel.
Union Home Secretary Madhukar Gupta had briefed the EC on Friday on availability of security forces for conducting elections.
