Indian cabbie returns Rs 5 lakh, feted

An Indian cab driver has been honoured for showing honesty by returning Dh 450,000 (nearly Rs five lakh) left behind by a passenger in his taxi.

Gorvendir Singh Karnail, a driver in the Dubai Transport Company, was honoured by Dubai Police's

Preventative Security Department Deputy Director Brigadier Adul Jalil Mahdi.

The driver had found an envelope containing the money in his taxi after dropping off a passenger. He took the money and handed it over to Al Muraqabat police station in Dubai.
