The Narcotics Control Bureau on Tuesday, September 8, arrested actor Rhea Chakraborty after questioning her for three days in connection with drugs-related allegations in her boyfriend actor Sushant Singh Rajput's death by suicide case.

In recent television interviews, Rhea had denied that she took drugs.

Supreme Court lawyer Sanjay Hegde feels Rhea's arrest in a drug case is weak and will not stand in a court of law.

"It does appear that three agencies probing various aspects have a mandate to see that this lady is arrested," Hegde told Rediff.com's Syed Firdaus Ashraf.

Dominic Xavier wonders whether Rhea is being made a scapegoat in a case which has clear political overtones.
