Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam President M Karunanidhi on Tuesday chose to keep the cards close to his chest on the issue of which political outfit his party would strike an alliance to fight next year's Lok Sabha polls.

"What is in the mind of the party cannot be disclosed to you openly…" Karunanidhi told media persons in Chennai, responding to a query on reports that there is a possibility of DMK allying with BJP.

"DMK has not begun its exercise to debate on with whom it should align", he said, to a query on whether the alliance with Congress would continue.

The DMK snapped its ties with Congress early this year over the Sri Lankan Tamils issue. However it managed to drum up that party's support for Karunanidhi's daughter Kanimozhi during the Rajya Sabha elections which she successfully contested.

Karunanidhi also reiterated his party's opposition to the Joint Parliamentary Committee report on the 2G-Spectrum scam.

The party had already submitted dissent note on the JPC report and its members staged a walkout in Parliament on Tuesday.

On anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare launching his indefinite fast for passage of the Jan Lokpal Bill in Parliament, in New Delhi today, Karunanidhi said, "I have trust in Anna Hazare movement, at the same time, I am also apprehensive".

On the party's executive committee meeting agenda, he said it would be based upon the "prevailing situation".
