The CBS television network in the United States broadcast never-before-seen photographs of a fatally injured Princess Diana at the Paris crash site on Wednesday night .
CBS said it had obtained a copy of the confidential French investigation report into the car crash, which occurred on August 31, 1997.

These included forensic science analysis and post-mortem examination of the driver, Henri Paul, according to the Daily Telegraph newspaper.
According to CNN, in one of the photos, confiscated by French authorities from paparazzi who followed Diana's Mercedes that fateful night, the princess was shown lying peacefully on her right side.
Apart from what may have been a spattering of blood, her face appeared unblemished.
The Daily Telegraph quoted Mohamed al-Fayed, the Harrods owner whose son Dodi was also killed in the crash, as saying that 'CBS simply want to cash in on the tragedy.
'It is disgraceful and insensitive of them to do this. It is devastating for me, for [Diana's sons] Prince William and Prince Harry.'
Ever since the crash there have been rumours that Diana was pregnant with Dodi's child, and that they were killed because their relationship was embarrassing to Britain's royal family.
