From her balcony, Kiran Bedi says defeat is hers

Even as the Aam Aadmi Party was tearing away to a spectacular victory in Delhi, Bharatiya Janata Party’s chief ministerial candidate Kiran Bedi said the defeat was hers and that the results were not a referendum on Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

 

“Agar haar hui to meri, jeet hui to leadership ki (If we lose, it will be my responsibility; if we win then the leadership will take credit,” the BJP's chief ministerial candidate, who is contesting from Krishna Nagar constituency, said.

Almost all the exit polls conducted on February 7 and the early counting on Tuesday had given Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party a decisive edge in the assembly election.

Most top BJP leaders have already denied the Delhi verdict as a referendum on Modi's ten month-rule.
