M K Afridi, a top diplomat at the Pakistan embassy in New Delhi was found dead at his residence in Vasant Vihar in New Delhi in mysterious circumstances. Afridi was allegedly electrocuted on Sunday evening.

Afridi was declared dead at 11.30 pm on Sunday night by a private hospital in Vasant Vihar, but no postmortem was conducted on him by the Delhi police.

Afridi's

body was then taken to the Attari border to be taken to Pakistan with permission from the ministry of external affairs in a rush job, following the Pakistani embassy's intervention at the highest levels.

Afridi, who is believed to have been an Inter-Services Intelligence operative, was kept under close watch not only by the Delhi police but also by the security agencies.
