Underworld don Dawood Ibrahim has bases in Pakistan though he keeps shifting his location from time to time, the Lok Sabha was informed on Tuesday.
Inputs available from different agencies suggest that Dawood, a prime accused in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts, has bases in Pakistan and keeps changing his location from time to time, Minister of State for Home Haribhai Parthibhai Chaudhary told the House.
He said that India has from time to time been apprising Pakistani authorities of details concerning Dawood, including passports and his reported addresses in the neighbouring country, with the request that he be handed over for facing trial in New Delhi for terrorist activities and other offences.
"The government will keep pursuing this matter through different channels to ensure that Pakistan and its agencies fulfil their international obligations in the context of the Red Corner Notice issued against Dawood Ibrahim and the relevant UN Security Council resolution," he said in reply to a written question.
Earlier, Home Minister Rajnath Singh had told Parliament that the government would leave no stone unturned in bringing back Dawood.
"The Indian government is committed to bringing back Dawood," he had said.

Terrorists may use UAVs for attacks!
There are intelligence inputs which suggest possible use of sub-conventional aerial platforms by terrorists.
MoS Chaudhary said a standard operating procedure for detection, identification and neutralisation of threat arising out of such unmanned aerial vehicle is being prepared.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation is in the process of formulating the regulations for certification and operation of UAV in the Indian civil airspace.
Further, the DGCA has banned the use of UAV in the Indian civil airspace by any non-government agency, organisation or an individual for any purpose whatsoever till such time the regulations are finalised, he said.

India shares terror intel with 24 countries, including China
India is sharing intelligence on terrorism with China and 23 other countries via the mechanism of joint working groups on counter-terrorism.
In response to a question, MoS Chaudhary said, "India has Joint Working Groups on Counter-Terrorism with 24 countries, including China.
"Meetings of these Joint Working Groups are being held from time to time to discuss counter-terrorism issues and share intelligence, experience, expertise, good practices and issues of mutual concern."
The minister added that cross-border terrorism issues are raised by India in Joint Working Group forum with foreign countries.
He said, however, that further details in this regard "cannot be disclosed in the interest of national security and bilateral relations with foreign states".

Centre provides security to 257 persons
As many as 257 persons are being provided security by the central government on the basis of their threat assessment.
"At present, there are 257 protectees in the central list under different categories. There is no fixed number of persons, other than VVIPs, Union cabinet and other ministers, to whom security is provided," MoS Chaudhary said in a written reply.
Security is provided on the basis of threat assessment of individuals by security agencies and the category of security (Z+, Z, Y and X) is decided on the basis of the nature and gravity of the threat, the minister said.
The security arrangements of the central protectees were last reviewed at a meeting held on September 10, 2015. Among the 257 central protectees, 34 are Z+, 66 in Z and 109 in Y category. The remaining 48 have been accorded X category cover.
