DA case: Court extends Jagan's judicial remand

A special Central Bureau of Investigation court in Hyderabad on Thursday extended till November 8 the judicial remand of YSR Congress chief Y S Jaganmohan Reddy and other accused in an alleged disproportionate assets case.

The court extended the remand of Jagan and others, including former Andhra Pradesh excise minister Mopidevi Venkataramana Rao, VANPIC project developer Nimmagadda Prasad, after they were produced through video-conference from Chanchalguda jail.

Andhra Pradesh Minister for Roads and Buildings Dharmana Prasada Rao, one of the accused in the quid pro quo deals involving the Kadapa MP, also appeared before the court which had earlier secured his presence for future proceedings in the case.

Jagan's financial advisor and another accused in the case V Vijay Sai Reddy also appeared before the court.

Besides Dharmana Prasada Rao and Mopidevi, CBI had named 12 others in its fourth charge sheet pertaining to VANPIC scam, filed in August.

The court also extended till November 8 the judicial remand of former Karnataka minister Gali Janardhan Reddy and others in the Obulapuram Mining Company scam.
