Upping the ante, the Bharatiya Janata Party on Saturday demanded that the Central Bureau of Investigation file a case against Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on the basis of the report of Comptroller and Auditor General which indicted her for alleged irregularities in several Commonwealth Games projects.
Delhi BJP chief Vijendra Gupta said the party will launch "a mass movement" in the city against Dikshit demanding her immediate dismissal following the report which was tabled in Parliament on Friday.
"The CBI must register a case against her as Comptroller and Auditor General has exposed her involvement in irregularities," Gupta said.
He said the BJP will hold a rally at Ramlila Maidan on August 9 to demand her dismissal while party workers will "gherao" Parliament on August 11 to press for her removal.
In a severe indictment of Dikshit on CWG projects, CAG cited her "active involvement" in the grant of a work incurring a loss of Rs 30 crores while slamming her government on some projects that led to a loss and escalation of costs of nearly Rs 500 crores.
