Troubled times for the Bharatiya Janata Party government in Karnataka seem to have come to an end as the 11 rebel members of legislative assembly have decided to be part of the B S Yeddyurappa government.
After nearly two days of negotiations with rebel MLAs in New Delhi, it was decided that the time has come to provide a stable government in Karnataka.
Earlier, the 11 rebels had moved the Supreme Court challenging their disqualification by the assembly Speaker and on Friday, the court had reversed the order.
On Sunday, the rebel legislators stated that they had no demands from the ruling BJP government and they were ready to join the Yeddyurappa-led government.
"Our main priority will be to make up for the neglect of our constituencies due all these issues and we will work hard," said the MLAs.
"There have been mistakes committed in the past by both the CM and by us. But the issues have now been resolved," they said.
It is not yet clear which ministries or corporations etc would be allocated to these legislators, as that would be finalised by the BJP high command.
The party top brass will decide on the final allocation of ministerial portfolios and posts of chairperson of boards and corporations.
The rebels, who had been camping in New Delhi, are now on their way to Bangalore.
They are expected to meet CM Yeddyurappa to assure him that there would be no more trouble from their side.
