The sessions court in Mumbai on Tuesday reserved the order on the bail application filed by corporate lawyer Janhavi Gadkar, who was arrested for allegedly crashing her car into a taxi and killing two persons, until Wednesday.
Gadkar's lawyer argued that investigation was over and no purpose would be served by keeping her in jail.
But the prosecution argued that if she was released on bail, it would send a wrong message.
The police said in their reply filed on Monday that Gadkar was involved in accidents prior to the June 10 incident and she was likely to repeat the offence if released.
In the early hours of June 10, an Audi driven by 35-year-old Gadkar rammed a taxi, resulting in the death of two persons including the taxi driver on the Eastern Freeway in Mumbai. She was allegedly drunk at the time.
