Supermodel Viveka Babajee, who was found dead in her apartment two months ago, had committed suicide, the police have said and given a clean chit to her two close friends who were under scanner after the incident.
The city police have closed investigations in the case after foul play was ruled out in the death of the 37-year-old model who was found hanging inside her flat at Continental building in suburban Bandra on June 25.
The police have given a clean chit to two of her friends -- stockbroker Gautam Vora, who had approached the sessions court seeking anticipatory bail soon after the model's death, and event manager Kartik Jobanputra.
The police had recovered a note written by Babjee stating, "U (you) killed me Gautam Vora".
Investigations were then undertaken to find if a strained relationship with Vora forced Babajee to kill herself and whether there was any foul play in the case.
"The chemical analysis report submitted by the forensic science laboratory rules out any foul play. Except the note, there is no evidence to indicate that Babajee was pressurised by someone to commit suicide," a senior police official said.
Even the victim's family, who had revealed to media that Babajee and Vora were a couple, did not lodge a complaint against him or anyone else, he said.
After Vora sought anticipatory bail, police had told the court that investigations were still on and they had no intention of arresting him.
The court had then directed the police to issue Vora a 72-hour notice before arresting him.
