Buoyed by the Bharatiya Janata Party's show in the Lok Sabha and Assembly by-polls, party leader Arun Jaitley said that there was an anti-incumbency wave against the Congress across the country.

By-poll results in four states, including Gujarat, have shown that the anti-incumbency was prevailing against the Congress not only in the states ruled by it but in the entire country, he told reporters at a hotel.

For upcoming assembly polls in Rajasthan, Jaitley said it would be a "double incumbency" against the ruling Gehlot government and the BJP would come again in power with more seats than it had won in 2003 assembly polls.

"Vasundhara Raje, who is leading the Suraj Sankalp Yatra, would win the next assembly polls with absolute majority," he claimed.

Jaitley visited Rajasthan to attend Suraj Sankalp Yatra at Ajmer.

Meanwhile, Jaitley in a public meeting at Ajmer city said if the current trend continues, Congress may find it difficult to win over 100 seats in the next Lok Sabha elections.

Jaitley also indicated at mid-term polls and said, "by-poll results are reality check and reflects ground reality.

"If this (trend) continues it will be almost impossible for Congress to reach the three figure mark in next Lok Sabha polls, whenever it take place next year or by the end of this year."

Prices are sky-rocketing and number of unemployed youth is on the rise, he said, adding people are suffering under the Congress rule.
