United Progressive Alliance chairperson and Congress president Sonia Gandhi Sunday said the younger lot of members of Parliament have to "wait a little more" and work for the party before they will be inducted into the Cabinet.
When her attention was drawn to the fact that young MPs like Jyotiraditya Scindia, Sachin Pilot, Milind Deora and Naveen Jindal were not considered in the expansion of the Union Council of Ministers, she said, "Everyone cannot be made ministers. After all, they have been elected to Parliament very recently and they should gain some more experience by working in the party."
Sonia was speaking to reporters at Rashtrapati Bhavan after a ceremony in which some 22 ministers were sworn in by President A P J Abdul Kalam.
She
Sonia hinted that there would be some minor readjustments in the organisational set up of the party to fill the vacancies due to some office bearers being shifted to the Union Cabinet.
Asked when these changes will take place, she said, "It will be done very soon."
On why Andhra Pradesh was given so much representation, she justified it by saying that the state has returned maximum number of MPs to the Lok Sabha.
