The police on Monday announced Rs 10 lakh reward for information about the person who planted the bomb that killed a woman and injured three others outside a restaurant in Bengaluru on Sunday night.

"Yes, Rs 10 lakh reward has been announced for information on the bomb planter," Deputy Commissioner of Police Central (Bengaluru) Sandeep Patil told PTI.

Earlier, speaking to reporters, City Police Commissioner M N Reddi had sought public support in apprehending the culprits.

"The police in tandem with public alone can prevent terrorist acts. I firmly believe that if public are with us, we can one hundred per cent prevent terrorist activities because public are the eyes and ears of the police," he said.

Stating that no organisation or outfit has claimed responsibility for the blast, he said ‘it
might have been done by various organisations or individuals. There are different
angles. We are looking at all of them’.

The National Investigation Agency and the police are also probing possible role of banned outfit Students Islamic Movement of India  in the blast.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who chaired a high-level meeting on Monday against the backdrop of Sunday night's blast, while briefing reporters, stressed the need for public cooperation whenever such incidents occur.

"If we have to get proper information, the public will have to share information....but most of them don't come forward out of fear, so we have decided to come out with a policy to reward people who share information and police will ensure the confidentiality about the informer," he said.
