MLAs in Jammu and Kashmir continued their dharna outside the state legislature for the third day on Tuesday demanding dismissal of the government and imposing President's rule, claiming that the NC-Congress government's policies were putting at risk the security of the state.

Wearing black coats and carrying placards bearing anti-government slogans, party MLAs led by leader of the BJP legislative party, Ashok Khajuria, sat on dharna at the entrance of the state legislature.

"We demand dismissal of the government as it is a security risk for the country and the state. We request imposition of President's rule in the state," Khajuria told reporters.

The BJP leader criticised the NC-led government for its stance on execution of Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru and arrested alleged militant Liyaqat Ali Shah.

National Conference had on Monday brought an adjournment motion in the Assembly to discuss the Liyaqat issue, but it was turned down by the Speaker.
