FIR against Ashok Mahato, other gangsters

The Bihar police have instituted a first information report against notorious gang leader Ashok Mahato and other gangsters in connection with the killing of seven persons, including the father of an independent legislator and a relative of the Jharkhand minister in the district on Saturday.      

State Director General of Police D P Ojha said the Warsaliganj police station had registered the case on Monday under various sections of the Indian Penal Code.

Kailash Singh, father of Warsaliganj independent MLA Aruna Devi and Nunulal Singh, uncle of Jharkhand Minister for Mines Ravindra Rai were among the seven persons killed by the Ashok Mahato gang at Konchgaon.

Ojha described the situation in Nawada as 'tense but well under control'.
