Deepak Kumar, a 16-year-old student of DAV School, Habibpur in Bhagalpur district of Bihar, has been reported missing since Tuesday evening.

Though the police have not yet classified this as a case of kidnapping, it has only added to their embarrassment at not having been able to trace two boys -- Kislay Kaushal of Patna and Ravi Kant of Biharsharif -- kidnapped less than a week back.

Deepak left for school on Tuesday morning but did not return. His parents lodged a report with the Habibpur town police station late on Tuesday evening.

Deepak's

father, Kapil Dev Mahto, a clerk in the revenue department, insists his son has been kidnapped.

The family has as yet not received any call for ransom.

Meanwhile, school students all over the state continued their protest against the police inaction in the Kislay kidnapping case.

Some schools have cancelled their Republic Day functions as a mark of protest.

Kislay was abducted while on his way to school last Wednesday, while Ravi Kant was kidnapped on Monday.
