A Bihar court on Tuesday granted bail to former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi after a non-bailable arrest warrant was issued against her in connection with a case lodged for making uncharitable remarks against former state Janata Dal-United chief Lallan Singh and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar during last Lok Sabha elections.

The chief judicial magistrate court in Chapra district granted bail to Rabri Devi in the case after she surrendered on Tuesday morning.

Early this month, Chapra CJM court issued a non-bailable warrant against Rabri Devi in the case.

During the last parliamentary election tours in the state, Rabri Devi, who is also leader of the opposition, had made some unsavoury remarks against Lallan and Kumar at Garkha in Chhapra.

Later, a case was lodged against her at the local police station. Though the case was registered under bailable sections, Rabri Devi never appeared in the court to seek bail.
