A school principal in Bihar, who stabbed and killed a Bharatiya Janata Party MLA for allegedly raping her, is writing a book on why she took the extreme step.

Rupam Pathak was granted bail last week by the Patna high court in the Raj Kishore Kesri murder case.

Kesri, a BJP MLA from Purnia constituency, was stabbed to death on January 4, 2011, at his residence by Pathak, who alleged that he and his close aide Bipin Rai had raped her for over three years.

Kesri was stabbed at his home in the presence of a number of people.

"My book will expose all the secrets and suspense behind what prompted me to take such an action against Kesri," says Pathak.

"I have put down my experiences on paper during my stay in jail," she said.

Pathak, who was released on bail from Bhagalpur central jail on Saturday, says she does not want to comment on the issue as the case is in court.

Pathak has said that she will approach the Supreme Court for justice.

The murder made headlines in Bihar and the chief minister had ordered a CBI probe into the killing.

Pathak was sentenced to life on April 10, 2012, by a special court, while two other accused, including Bipin Rai, were granted bail.

According to the police, the MLA was killed when he was holding a janata darbar at his residence. Pathak had stabbed him with a kitchen knife.

Ironically, Pathak, in her mid 40s, a rape victim, had to undergo a speedy trial while Bipin Rai, who also allegedly raped her, is out on bail.

Pathak had lodged a case in the local police station in 2007 against the MLA and Rai for sexual assault. She later retracted her statement in court.

In September 2010, she went back to court declaring that she had withdrawn her case against Kesri owing to pressure from her in-laws and "other people". The "other people" were later described by her as people in power.
