Thursday brought respite for people in Bihar from cold wave conditions.
The state, which had been reeling under intense cold wave since a week, got some respite on Thursday as the minimum temperature rose to 4.4 degrees Celsius in capital city Patna while Gaya district recorded 3.4 degree Celsius.
India Meteorological Department official A K Sen told rediff.com over telephone that the situation will improve further on Friday.

Met department officials said that on Wednesday, Gopalganj district was at freezing point while Patna had recorded a mere 1.1
"Patna recorded the minimum temperature of 1.1 degrees Celsius. It is the lowest temperature recorded ever here as per the data available with us since 1867," Sen said.
Sipaya in Gopalganj district recorded zero degree Celsius on Wednesday, the
coldest in the state.
