Bangladesh on Tuesday denied the Indian charge of the existence of terrorist camps within its territory.

Bangladeshi officials said Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia's government had carried out a thorough and detailed investigation of New Delhi's charge before rejecting it.

The door is open for any diplomat to verify what the government insists [that there is no terrorist camp], Bangladeshi officials said.

"We gave topmost priority to Indian allegations and several agencies of the government including the Bangladesh Rifles, DGFI, NSIMI [intelligence agencies] and the home ministry investigated and found that the Indian allegations were baseless," Bangladesh Rifles' Deputy General Major General Rezzakul Haider said.
