According to a reliable source in the government, the inquiry into the attack on the Ayodhya temple has lead the investigators to the same terrorist network, which was allegedly involved in the Ishrat Jehan case who was killed in a police encounter in Gujarat on June 15, 2004.

Out of many leads, one points to a place near Akbarpur in Uttar Pradesh.

Also, the police team is investigating about some calls made from Ayodhya to Gujarat when the attack in Ayodhya took place.

Two days after the terror attack on the high-security Ram temple complex, investigative agencies have not yet announced any definite particulars of the five militants killed by the Central Reserve Police Force's brave counterattack.

"The militants have not yet been identified, but we are working on a couple of leads," Senior Superintendent of Police (Faizabad) Avinash Chandra said.

After the blast, all internal and external calls made out of Ayodhya districts were randomly checked.

A few calls have lead police to Nepal, Akbarpur in Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat.

According to a source, when all the telephones were checked, the police found that the terrorists who died in the Ayodhya complex have probably visited the Akbarpur area in UP.

It's the same area, which was also visited by the terrorist killed in the encounter in Ahmedabad along with Ishrat.

According to the Gujarat police, the terrorists who were killed in Ahmedabad were on a mission to assassinate Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi.

The Gujarat police had claimed the involvement of a teenager Ishrat Jehan in the incident.

According to the press statement issued by the Crime Branch, Ahmedabad, which carried out the operation, the police officials acted on the information provided by 'intelligence sources' that two Pakistani fidayeen terrorists, belonging to Lashkar-e-Tayiba, on a mission to kill Modi had set out separately to reach Ahmedabad.

They were Jishan Johar alias Janbaaz alias Abdul Gani, resident of Gujaranwala district, Punjab, Pakistan, and Amjad Ali Akbarali Rana alias Salin alias Chandu alias Rajkumar of Sargoda district of Punjab, Pakistan.

They were helped by an LeT terrorist Javed of Pune in arranging a local network to kill Modi. Ishrat was allegedly Javed's girlfriend.

The police team, which is investigating the Ayodhya attack, is double-checking if the same LeT network which allegedly wanted to kill Modi is involved in the Ayodhya incident.
