In a major success for Patna police, all 62 firearms stolen from an arms store in the state capital were recovered during a raid on a criminal hideout, barely two days after the incident, a senior police official said on Saturday.

Acting on specific information, a joint team of Kotwali and Kadamkuan police stations raided the house of a notorious gangster Ravi, located behind the central jail at Beur, late last night and recovered the weapons, Senior Superintendent of Police Kundan Krishnan told PTI.

Four criminals, including Ravi, were arrested.

Asked whether the arrested gangsters had any links with naxalite organisations or private armies, Krishnan said those held were being interrogated about whether they had any such connections.

Burglars had, on the night of November 30 stolen 62 firearms, including 43 double barrelled guns, six single barrelled guns, one combination gun, besides 12 rifles from 'vishal arms', a licenced arms store at Bakarganj under Pirbahore police station.

Two policemen had been placed under suspension on the charge of dereliction of duty in connection with the incident.
