Former president of the Bhartiya Janata Party Venkaiah Naidu expressed sadness after meeting several injured in the Hyderabad bomb blasts and visiting the blast sites on Saturday.
Venkaiah Naidu told rediff.com that he regretted the lack of political leadership to take preventive action and nab the perpetrators of the “heinous crime carried out by Pakistan-based terror outfits”.
"The Union Home Minister Sushilkumar Shide told the media that the home ministry had issued an alert in Hyderabad. Maybe the state police does not want to take the blame as any action against the minority community would not help the Congress," said the
former BJP chief.
He did not agree with the point of view of former director of Intelligence Bureau Ajit Doval that Shinde was not the right person to head the home ministry.
"Why blame one man. The UPA government is known for its inaction. There is a lack of will to deal with such elements. I believe that both Delhi Police and Maharashtra ATS had given specific information, but the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh lacked courage to deal with terrorists. I feel saddened because Hyderabad has been targeted by terrorists even before. Hafiz Muhammad Saeed (the head of the Jama'at-ud-Da'wah) had promised to avenge the execution of Afzal Guru in the Parliament attack case. It is really tragic,” said Naidu.
