Ammonia leak reported in Mumbai, triggers panic

A suspected ammonia leak has been reported from Matunga, Mahim, Dadar, Shivdi and Vadala localities of Mumbai.

Residents of these areas have complained of burning sensation in the eyes and sore throat besides a foul smell akin to ammonia gas.

The
matter was immediately brought to the notice of the administration.

Fire tenders have been rushed to the site. Fire brigade officials are trying to find out from where the gas is leaking.

Ambulances have also been deployed in the areas.
