A live bomb was found near the main gate of the Khwaja Moinnudin Chisti shrine in Ajmer on Friday, a day after a bomb blast at the dargah complex killed three persons and injured 28 others.

The bomb, which appeared to be similar to the one which exploded inside the dargah complex on Thursday, has been defused, said Additional Director General of Police (Crime) A K Jain. The police were still searching the dargah complex, he said.

A team of National Security Guards has also arrived at the spot to examine the blast site, Jain said.

Chemical analysis has revealed that Tri-Nitro Toluene was used to make the bombs and a mobile phone with a SIM card was used to trigger the explosion on Thursday. The police say that a similar modus operandi was used to trigger the Mecca Masjid blasts in Hyderabad.
