A Mumbai-bound Air India plane from Delhi with 70 passengers on board landed under emergency conditions at the Raja Bhoj airport in Bhopal due to a technical problem barely 15 minutes after take-off, officials said on Thursday.

The hydraulic system of plane AI-634, which was heading for Indore on Wednesday, developed some problem because of which it had to be brought back to Bhopal airport soon after its departure at 2030 hours.

The flight was cancelled at 2130 hours after engineers failed to rectify the snag, airport officials said.

The flight scheduled from New Delhi at 1915 hours, halts at Bhopal and Indore, on its way to Mumbai.

All the passengers deplaned safely and were taken to Indore and Mumbai by another flight on Thursday morning.
