After Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi’s speech at the Sriram College of Commerce made headlines across the country, Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitley wants Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to address the students of the same college.

The senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party wants Dr Singh to address the annual convocation of the prestigious SRCC on March 6. Jaitley is an alumni of the SRCC and a member of the college’s’ Governing Council.

After Modi's much-publicised speech, it will be an opportunity for the United Progressive Alliance to showcase itself before the same audience.

Whether the PM accepts Jaitley’s invitation will become clear in the next few days.

Meanwhile, Modi is headed to Delhi one again. He will visit the national capital on March 2 to attend the meeting of the BJP’s national council at Talkatora Stadium.

If sources are to be believed, Modi will be addressing a gathering of intellectuals and others as part of his drill to expand his base outside Gujarat.
