Bharatiya Janata Party leader L K Advani celebrated his 80th birthday on Thursday in a low-key affair.
Party leaders have been flocking Advani's residence since morning to garland him and present bouquets.
BJP president Rajnath Singh, senior leaders Jaswant Singh and Venkaiah Naidu were among those who reached early at his 30, Prithviraj Road residence to wish him.
Chief ministers of BJP-ruled states also turned up to greet the Leader of the Opposition.
Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi was, however, conspicuous by his absence.
Wishes from BJP patriarch A B Vajpayee were conveyed to Advani by the ailing leader's nephew Ranjan Bhattacharya.
President Pratibha Patil, Vice President Hamid Ansari and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh wished him over phone.
