A day after he launched his new political outfit, B S Yeddyurappa has been summoned by a Central Bureau of Investigation court in Bengaluru.

Yeddyurappa will have to appear in person before the court on Monday afternoon in connection with a land de-notification case.

The CBI is probing charges of corruption against Yeddyurappa.

While one case pertains to a land de-notification case the other is about his involvement

in illegal mining.

It is alleged that Yeddyurappa, while he was the chief minister of Karnataka, had de-notified land and shown favours for alleged illegal gains.

The CBI has been probing this case for the past six months.

Meanwhile, there is likely to be a lull in political activity as the special session of the Karnataka legislative assembly is commencing in Belgaum on Monday.

Soon after appearing before the court, Yeddyurappa would embark upon a state-wide tour.
