After politicians, its the turn of the bureaucrats to face the music in the Adarsh scam.

On Thursday, Maharashtra Chief Secretary J P Dange issued notices to 17 bureaucrats asking them to 'explain' their role in clearing the Adarsh file.

The 17 bureaucrats are those who had cleared the files in spite

of numerous irregularities and had even got flats in the building for the same.

Dange has said that the bureaucrats concerned should reply within eight days of receiving the notice failing which action could be taken against them.

This is one of the rare occasions when the Maharashtra government is taking action against its bureaucrats.
