On October 13, 1999, he took charge as Prime Minister of India for the second consecutive term at the head of a new coalition government, the National Democratic Alliance. He was Prime Minister for a short period in 1996. He is the only Prime Minister since Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru to have become Prime Minister of India through three successive mandates. Vajpayee will be remembered most for having been the man to take India nuclear. Vajpayee authorised the nuclear tests at Pokhran in May 1998 and views them as a means of establishing India's independence and sovereignty.
He is the only PM trying to resolve the Kashmir and decleared cease-fire, this is the negotiating period with pakistan. He is doing everything. He is the only PM Cutted Pakistan to size and strengthen relations with USA.
Here I am enclosing a letter that I am planning to send him, if he can get sucess in this, I will feel very happy as a proud indian.

We were very happy when you were
elected.But nothing much has been achieved.
common civil code is what we have been waiting for.
If a Hindu or Muslim becomes a citizen of USA
they do not talk of their seperate religious
rights though it is a constitutional right that
everyone can practise his religion or his faith.
But look what happens when the very same people are
in India ?Why is it that the Muslim bretheren are
allowed to marry 4 times ? Is it because their religion allows them to do so ?Then why is it that
they would not do it in USA?I feel shameful that
there is no common law for all citizens.
Please do something concrete after
consulting our constitutional experts.
We are not interested in the BJP building Ram temples .
We want to see more law and order.
we want population control.
we want pure drinking water.
we want the corrupt politicians to be punished severly
we want less of politics and more of good
administration.
Please this is my appeal to all of you in the
party dont divide us in the name of religion
the problems we have can be sorted out if people
who rule this country are more sincere in their hearts.
