CBI chief falls off plane

James Bond would be hard put to beat Central Bureau of Investigation chief R C Sharma. For the director of the premier investigation agency, in Assam for some serious investigation, fell out of the plane he was supposed to return to Delhi in. He is now recovering at the Guwahati medical college hospital.

According to CBI sources, the director was standing at the door of the aircraft, waving to his colleagues assembled in the lounge to see him off when he casually took a step forward.

Unfortunately, the airport staff had already trundled the ladder away, and the CBI chief had no place to go but down. All of 20 feet.

Sharma suffered serious injuries to his knees, hips and right hand, but the doctors at the Guwahati medical college hospital declared him out of danger.
