Live Blog: Drishyam 3 Trailer Launch Live

So after the event, the press was taken in buses to this popular eatery in Panjim called The Fisherman's Wharf. Having had the fill of the Drishyam cast and their chemistry, now the time to fill our growling stomachs.

The trailer launch event concludes on an amusing note. Ajay Devgn jokes about some of the newer questions getting stupider so that is the sign to wrap things up. And so it ends...

While talking about their memories about working on Drishyam franchise, Shriya Saran revealed that she has a girl crush on her National Award winning co-star, Tabu. Never mind their characters hate each other on the screen.

When asked if he faced pressure of being compared with Akshaye Khanna, Jaideep Ahlawat was confident that he never felt any such pressure. Because his character of SP Tomar is entirely different from Khanna's and even when Abhishek Pathak narrated the screenplay, he never felt that it was a replacement. From his intro and styling to how he develops equations for both Deshmukh and Salgaonkar families, everything was different.

Tabu took a moment to thank the team of Malayalam Drishyam franchise, like director Jeethu Joseph and superstar Mohanlal, for making their own journey exist. She particularly thanked Asha Sharath who played the same character in the Malayalam films.

Jaideep Ahlawat talks about how Drishyam: The Conclusion feels like a full circle for him, since he worked with Ajay Devgn in Aakrosh, which was his first movie in Mumbai. He was also reunited with Rajat Kapoor, who was his senior at FTII.

Ajay Devgn confirms Drishyam: The Conclusion will look to close the saga on a high note. He also confirms that the screenplay is very different from the Malayalam film, and that Abhishek Pathak and his writers have cracked something brilliant. The actor also wants Jeethu Joseph and Mohanlal, the director and star of the Malayalam franchise, to watch their movie.

So the cast and team were asked which movie Salgaonkar family watched when they lied about their day on October 2. Not anyone got the right answer and Ajay Devgn had the most interesting response: Murde Ki Jaan Khatre Mein. And he even challenged journos who were sceptical about the existence of the movie.

After the trailer of Drishyam The Conclusion was shown, the main cast was brought on stage. So we have Ajay Devgn, Tabu, Jaideep Ahlawat, Shriya Saran, Rajat Kapoor and Mrunal Pandey in attendance. Prakash Raj and Ishita Dutta were absent.

So the press was shown the trailer finally, and it confirms how the movie would be different from the Malayalam film. Particularly with how it introduces Prakash Raj and Jaideep Ahlawats characters, playing a hotshot lawyer and SP of Crime Branch respectively. Though them trying to catch Vijay Salgaonkar by tracing how he had escaped the last time is similar to Malyalam Drishyam 3. Anyway, the Hindi film is definitely looking to be different and thats really making me curious for the movie.

The first guests to be welcomed on stage were producers Kumar Mangat, Alok Jain and Ajit Andhare, and director Abhishek Pathak. Abhishek Pathak reveals how the franchise about a family man reflected on his own personal journey of finding love and marrying (actress Shivaleeka Oberoi).

So the event has begun, as the host has commenced his presentation...

The stage is set before the impressive INOX Bigpix screen. Now we are waiting for the actors to fill in those seats.

The second investigation set that they created is that of the investigation whose centerpieces are the crime board with stills from the earlier two Drishyam movies trying to link Sams unsolved disappeance to Vijay Salgaonkar and his family. The other is the chessboard that represents the cops playing a game of intelligent strategies against their biggest rival, Mr Salgaonkar. Though I am sure Vijay would lose in an actual game of chess.

So in the lobby of the INOX multiplex where they are premiering the Drishyam 3 Trailer, the team has created these two exhibition stands, one of which is the evidence room that has all these files, sealed evidences and of course, the shovel of Vijay Salgaonkar that he allegedly used to bury Sams body. Allegedly because it has not proven in court.

According to this board, the trailer will be screened here for the media at 12.30 pm before dropping online.

Sadly, after only two spots in the Drishyam Tour... We never got to see where Sams body was first buried... The tour takes us to where the main event is happening: Drishyam 3 aka Drishyam: The Conclusion trailer launch event.

Currently the owners mother and the caretaker reside in the house that is open for guest visits for those who are curious to see where Ajay Devgns character and his family is shown residing. Of course, with prior approval.

So the tour, which dropped yesterday, due to low light, resumed in the morning, as we visited the house that became Vijay Salgaonkars residence in Drishyam. It is a quaint looking house in Ucassaim, a village in Goa, with beautiful surroundings with lush greenery that gives quite the serene feeling. Quite apt for a nice relaxing staycation.

Too hungry so we hit the buffet where awaits for us Goan Prawns curry, Rawa Chicken Fry and other such Goan delicacies...

Managed to catch Jaideep Ahlawat for a few minutes and had a short and sweet interaction with him. He revealed that he is a huge fan of Shah Rukh Khan. His favourite movies of the superstar? DDLJ and Swades!

Joining Ajay Devgn at his dinner table are his Drishyam 3 co-stars Jaideep Ahlawat and Shriya Saran. Also at their table was director Luv Ranjan. Hmmm... Is a movie on the cards?

So surprise alert! Ajay Devgn made an unexpected appearance at the dinner party. He landed there with Abhishek Pathak, who directed Drishyam 2 and 3. He is also meeting journos. Unfortunately no photos. So be happy with this picture of the actor from Drishyam 2.

So while we were little disappointed with not continuing the tour, we were stopped for dinner at this riverside bistro called Copita. Unfortunately, we missed what we were told to be a beautiful sunset. Instead we were welcomed by this Drishyam crime stage equipped with a spade, case files, wicker lamps, ropes and a calendar with the date of, of course, October 2, red circled on it.

Our second and final stop was at the location where Vijay Salgaonkars house was set. Unfortunately due to heavy traffic and darkness setting early, the plan was dropped. :(

The first stop of the tour is the police headquarters shown in both the movies where the cops plotted against the brains of Vijay Salgaonkar and also brought him and his family for interrogation. It is actually the old GMC palace in Panjim, but is now known as the Drishyam police headquarters!

So it starts... We have the case file with us. Will Vijay Salgaonkar finally get caught by this media posse?

The famous Martins Corner stand. Drishyam fans would be quite familiar with him.

We will be off to search for the hunt of Sams body... Watch this space for more clues...

Check out the new poster of Drishyam 3 announcing the drop of its first trailer on September 9.

Well, Vijay Salgaonkar has come to welcome us on arrival. Or rather his placard. Along with some light drizzle

So off to Goa to meet Vijay Salgaonkar and family!

So Drishyam 3s trailer launch is happening on Goa on September September 9, with events planned for media on the day prior as well. We are heading off to the land of sun and sand and would be sharing all the exciting updates from the event.
