|
State assembly dissolvedHimachal Pradesh Governor V S Rama Devi today dissolved the state assembly on recommendation of the council of ministers to pave way for simultaneous elections to the Vidhan Sabha and the Lok Sabha. Rama Devi asked Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh to continue as head of the state government till elections are held and a new government is formed in the state. Earlier, the council of ministers held a meeting here, presided over by Singh, and recommended that the governor to dissolve the assembly. Later, the chief minister rushed to Raj Bhavan to apprise the governor of the council of ministers' recommendation. Talking to the press at the Raj Bhavan, Singh said his government would continue as it had not submitted its resignation to the governor. |
