Parikh orders probe into gangster's death

Gujarat Chief Minister Dilip Parikh has ordered a magisterial inquiry under Section 176 of the Criminal Procedure Code into dreaded gangster Abdul Latif's escape from police custody and his subsequent death in a police encounter.

Parikh said the magisterial inquiry will be conducted by Ahmedabad sub-division magistrate Chavda. He said Additional Inspector General of Police Geeta Johri will conduct a departmental inquiry into Latif's escape from police custody.
