30 criminals surrender

About 30 criminals surrendered at various police stations in northern Madhya Pradesh yesterday.

State Director General of Police Ayodhya Nath Pathak said that 25 of these criminals carried rewards ranging from Rs 500 to Rs 5,000 on their heads. Eleven of them surrendered in Gwalior district, 10 in Morena, seven in Bhind and two in Shivpuri district, he said.

Of the surrendered dacoits, five had been absconding after committing murder or attempt to murder, he said.

Pathak said an intensive anti-dacoity drive will be launched in the Chambal valley from today.
