Samrat Choudhary will be Bihar's first BJP CM

Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary has been picked as the new CM at the BJP legislative party meeting. He will be the first Bihar CM from the BJP.

This comes after Nitish Kumar submitted his resignation at the Lok Bhavan in Patna.

During a meeting of the council of ministers earlier in the day, Kumar recommended cabinet dissolution, a constitutional requirement before tendering his resignation as the CM.
